Healthcare Software Design and
Development Services

UITOP creates digital health products from scratch and improves existing healthcare software. We combine custom healthcare software development, healthcare UX/UI design, integrations, and more for medical teams building effective digital workflows.

Creating Healthcare Products
Around Real User Needs

01

Make complex healthcare workflows easier to use

Healthcare products often ask users to act under pressure: book care, update records, review medication details, or respond to alerts. UITOP designs these moments with fewer distractions, more obvious next steps, and checks that may reduce avoidable mistakes.

02

Support patients, clinicians, and care teams

Different healthcare users need different levels of access, detail, and control. Our team defines role-based workflows so patients, clinicians, admins, and care teams can work with information and actions that match their responsibilities.

03

Balance usability, accessibility, and trust

Healthcare software deals with sensitive information, so the interface has to be easy to read and careful with feedback. We pay attention to hierarchy, accessibility, error prevention, and status messages, especially in flows where users confirm, edit, or share medical data.

Healthcare Product Challenges
We Help Solve

01

Complex patient and clinician workflows

Healthcare apps often support booking, records, care updates, and follow-ups in the same place. The challenge is to make it easy to follow, especially when users deal with time pressure or sensitive information, and our medical UX design agency addresses this challenge.

02

Sensitive data and role-based access

Healthcare software has to show the right information to the right person. A patient, clinician, admin, or care team member may all need different access. UITOP designs these roles carefully, including permissions, sign-in flows, and privacy-sensitive actions.

03

Fragmented systems and integrations

When clinical work depends on separate platforms, older tools, and manual data transfer, small delays can affect the whole service. We connect healthcare products with external systems, APIs, and internal data sources where needed.

04

Accessibility for diverse users

Healthcare platforms may serve busy clinicians, caregivers, admins, and patients with different physical abilities. Readability, navigation, input states, and error prevention need attention from the first screens.

05

Data-heavy screens and decision support

Healthcare screens can become difficult to read when records, alerts, and status updates appear together. UITOP designs these views so users can notice relevant changes, review details, and continue their work more easily.

06

Modernizing legacy healthcare software

Older healthcare software can still do the job, but it may be hard to update, slow on mobile, or confusing for daily users. UITOP can improve the product step by step through healthcare UI/UX design services, development updates, integrations, and new features.

Cases

Healthcare Product Design and Development Cases

Designing staff planning software for ResHub

ResHub is a healthcare platform for medical staff who care for older patients and communicate with families. The product needed to replace paperwork with a digital way to manage schedules, patient details, reports, surveys, and daily tasks.

We designed the platform interface, including the dashboard, calendar, reporting, surveys, and design system. The project included 150+ screens, reached an 89 ease-of-use score, brought 30% more new users, and achieved 87% user retention.

Designing medication management for Impruvon Health

Impruvon Health focuses on a problem patients often face: taking medicine on time and staying connected with their doctor. The task of the project was to make prescriptions, dosage reminders, side effects, and patient updates easier to manage from a phone.

Our team worked on the mobile app experience for both patients and doctors: onboarding, patient and doctor accounts, prescription cards, medicine scheduling, and a component library for consistent screens. The product launched in 2 months with 45+ screens. As a result, Impruvon Health reached a 92 usability score, gained 43% new users, and achieved 93% user retention.

Building accounting software for MedTax healthcare clients

Pacioli began as an internal product for MedTax, a Canadian accounting firm serving healthcare businesses. The team required a single workspace for client profiles, transaction records, tax tasks, and day-to-day accounting work.

UITOP built the platform, covering product logic, finance workflows, QuickBooks integration, and automation for recurring tasks. What started as an internal system later grew into a SaaS product for accounting operations, client management, transaction tracking, and much more.

Why us

Why Companies Choose UITOP
for Healthcare Product Development

01

Product thinking before screens and code

UITOP first clarifies the product context: user roles, healthcare workflows, business goals, and technical limits. This gives the project a solid base before the team moves into interface design, architecture, or development, especially when the product includes sensitive data and different access levels.
02

UX for complex healthcare workflows

Healthcare software can ask users to do careful work: review patient details, update records, follow care steps, or manage requests. Our team designs these flows so the interface is easier to read, actions are placed where users expect them, and each role gets the level of access it needs.
03

Design and development in one delivery flow

Healthcare products work better when UX/UI and development are discussed together from the start. A screen may look simple, but it can depend on permissions, patient data, integrations, or mobile behavior. UITOP keeps designers, developers, QA, and project managers involved in the same product decisions, so the work stays consistent from prototype to release.
04

Engineering for secure, data-heavy products

Healthcare applications often have sensitive records, user roles, and outside systems involved. UITOP builds the technical side with these realities in mind: access, data flow, integrations, and day-to-day product behavior. If compliance requirements are part of the project, we define them in the scope before development starts.
05

Clear collaboration with healthcare and product teams

Healthcare projects usually involve several voices: business, product, clinical, and technical. UITOP helps bring these views into one working process, so priorities are easier to discuss, decisions are easier to track, and everyone understands what is being designed or built next.
06

Support beyond the first release

After launch, UITOP can handle product updates, bug fixes, QA, new features, integrations, and performance improvements. This is useful when a healthcare platform needs to support more users, add new workflows, connect extra tools, or improve parts that have become harder to manage after real use.

Our Healthcare Software
Design and Development Services

Healthcare Product Discovery and Strategy

Patient, clinician, and care team workflows

Our team first evaluates how patients, clinicians, and care teams use the product in daily work. We define the main tasks, user roles, handoffs, and moments where information should be easy to find, update, or confirm.

Product scope and delivery priorities

Next, our UITOP agency defines the first release based on business goals, user needs, technical limits, and more. We outline core functionality, dependencies, and delivery steps, so the team has a realistic plan before UX/UI or development work begins.

Data, security, and integration requirements

We review access roles, data flows, connected systems, and technical limits in the project. This helps understand what can be built, what needs extra attention, and where project-specific rules may affect development.

Healthcare UX/UI and Product Design

User flows for patients and healthcare teams

Our team designs user flows for onboarding, appointments, medication, records, communication, dashboards, and other healthcare scenarios. Our UI/UX design services for healthcare focus on making each step understandable, useful, and suitable for the role for which it is.

Clear interfaces for complex medical information

Our medical design agency creates medical screens for records, alerts, timelines, tables, and status updates. We work on layout, labels, filters, empty states, error states, and actions, so each screen supports the task it was made for.

Accessible web and mobile experiences

We also design healthcare products for desktop, tablet, and mobile use and pay attention to readability, accessibility, touch interactions, and layout behavior across devices, especially for flows users may require in care, admin, or patient-facing contexts.

Healthcare App Development

Front-end and back-end product development

Our custom healthcare software development company develops the user-facing part and the technical layer behind it: interfaces, backend logic, databases, roles, permissions, and core functionality. The work can cover web platforms, mobile apps, portals, dashboards, and internal tools.

APIs and third-party integrations

Healthcare products may need to exchange data with external platforms, internal systems, reporting tools, or communication services. We plan and develop integrations based on the confirmed scope, data flows, access rules, and technical requirements.

Testing, performance, and release readiness

UITOP tests core user flows, access rights, forms, errors, accessibility, speed, and release behavior before launch. In healthcare products, these checks are especially important when people work with private data, care updates, or time-sensitive tasks.

Healthcare Product Modernization and Growth

UX audit and product redesign

Our healthcare UX design agency analyzes existing healthcare products to find confusing flows, outdated screens, repeated user effort, and areas where the interface no longer fits daily work. The redesign can cover one module, several problem areas, or the entire product.

Architecture and feature modernization

Older healthcare software may need updated functionality, better data flows, new integrations, or technical changes before it can support the next stage of growth. Our team can improve the product foundation step by step.

Continuous development after launch

After release, UITOP can continue providing healthcare software development to handle updates, bug fixes, new features, integrations, and performance improvements. We can also review product data and user feedback to decide what needs attention next as your platform scales.

Healthcare Products We Design and Build

Medication management products

Medication products can support schedules, reminders, dosage instructions, adherence flows, prescription details, and status updates. UITOP designs and develops these tools for patients, clinicians, and care teams who need better treatment coordination.

Patient portals and mobile health apps

Patients often need one place to check records, appointments, care plans, reminders, notifications, and daily health tasks. We design and build healthcare software solutions like portals and mobile apps that make these actions easier to manage from a desktop or phone.

Electronic health record systems

EHR products require careful work with patient records, clinical notes, care history, roles, permissions, and related workflows. Our team can create systems for storing, viewing, updating, and connecting medical information across different user groups.

Telemedicine platforms

UITOP creates products for virtual consultations, appointment booking, patient onboarding, and communication between patients and clinicians. They include scheduling, video visit flows, intake forms, care notes, and follow-ups.

Clinical and care team dashboards

UITOP creates dashboards for teams that need to monitor patient status, tasks, alerts, and reports during daily care work. We focus on screens that help clinicians, admins, and coordinators see what needs attention and act on it.

Healthcare SaaS and management platforms

We also provide healthcare software development services for SaaS products. These may include staff workflows, scheduling, subscriptions, administration, reporting, user roles, and multi-user product logic. Our agency can design and develop these platforms for startups, clinics, internal teams, and growing healthcare businesses.

Crafting digital experiences at UITOP

Our Healthcare Product Development Process

1. Understand users, workflows, and product goals

First, our team starts by clarifying who will use the healthcare product, what they need to complete, and where the current process creates delays or mistakes. We also analyze business goals, existing tools, and care scenarios.

2. Define the scope and technical direction

UITOP defines what the first release needs to include, which roles the product will support, and what data or integrations are required. We also check technical limits, so timelines and delivery stages are based on real project conditions.

3. Design and validate critical healthcare journeys

Next, our healthcare design agency creates the main user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and UI screens. Our experts review how each step works, where users may need extra guidance, and which details are missing from the flow.

4. Build the product and required integrations

UITOP builds the healthcare product according to the approved scope. This can include web or mobile screens, backend logic, databases, roles, permissions, records, dashboards, and integrations with other systems.

5. Test usability, accessibility, and release readiness

We test the product before launch across real user roles, devices, forms, permissions, and error cases. Our team also checks accessibility, speed, and release behavior, especially for flows with private data or actions that users need to complete on time.

6. Launch, support, and evolve the product

After launch, UITOP can assist with bug fixes, updates, new features, integrations, and performance work. We can also evaluate feedback and product data to see what should be improved next.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

What healthcare software development services does UITOP provide?

UITOP works on healthcare software from early planning to launch and further updates. This can include discovery, healthcare UX/UI design, web or mobile development, integrations, testing, and support after release. Our team can help with telemedicine platforms, patient portals, mobile health apps, EHR systems, medication tools, clinical dashboards, and healthcare SaaS products. The scope depends on what you already have and what stage the product is in.

Can UITOP design and develop a healthcare product from scratch?

Yes, we can take a healthcare product from an early idea to a usable web or mobile release. You may come with a rough concept, process notes, early requirements, or an existing workflow that is ready for digital product work. Our team defines the workflows, roles, scope, UX/UI, development tasks, integrations, and testing before launch.

Can you modernize an existing healthcare platform?

Our team can modernize an existing healthcare platform through UX/UI redesign, new features, integrations, or technical refactoring. We may update screens that slow users down, improve mobile flows, connect missing systems, or clean up parts of the product that make releases harder. The scope depends on the platform’s condition.

Do you provide healthcare UX/UI design and software development as one service?

Yes. UITOP can provide healthcare UX/UI design and software development as one coordinated service. This is useful when a product has patient screens, clinician tools, permissions, integrations, mobile flows, and testing all tied together. The main benefit is fewer gaps between what is designed and what is built. Designers can check ideas with developers, and developers understand the product logic behind each screen. As a result, we can plan the scope more accurately, avoid unnecessary rework, and go from prototype to launch with fewer changes late in the process.

What types of healthcare products can you build?

We can build different types of healthcare products, depending on the business model and user needs. This can include telemedicine platforms, patient portals, mobile health apps, medication management products, clinical dashboards, healthcare SaaS platforms, and internal systems for care teams or admin staff. Our team can also work on products that combine several areas, such as appointments, records, reminders, communication, reporting, and role-based access in one platform.

How do you approach security, privacy, and accessibility in healthcare products?

At UITOP, we treat security, privacy, and accessibility as part of the product scope. Our team also reviews project-specific requirements, because every healthcare product has different rules and risks. This can include permissions, authentication, sensitive data flows, accessibility checks, and extra safeguards for roles that handle patient or clinical information.

Can you integrate healthcare software with existing systems and APIs?

Yes. Our agency can integrate healthcare software with existing systems and APIs. The scope has to be defined during discovery. It depends on what data needs to move, which systems are involved, how stable the API is, and what technical limits already exist. Our team can plan and build integrations for internal tools, third-party platforms, data exchange, reporting, communication features, or other product-specific needs.

How long does healthcare software development usually take?

The timeline depends on what you want to build and what already exists. The first version or redesign usually takes less time. A healthcare platform with several user roles, mobile screens, integrations, and sensitive data needs a more detailed estimate before we can name a realistic launch date. Contact us for a more specific estimate for your healthcare platform.

What happens after the healthcare product is launched?

After launch, UITOP can continue with post-release support: fixes, feedback review, feature updates, integrations, performance checks, and scaling. This gives the product room to improve after real users start working with it, especially when new roles, care flows, reports, or system connections are added.
